I have added lots of poems for your enjoyment recently. Several are very personal to me, but all were written with love. Whatever your taste in poetry, you should find something here that appeals to  your liking. More will be added in the near future.

Each poem is listed individually, on its own page, under the section “Published Pages” on the right sidebar column.

Also, if there is enough interest, I will be posting some valuable information about the types of poetry, as well as some terms/terminology you should be familiar with if you are interested in writing poetry.

Do you have an opinion about a particular poem you read on this site? Please share your opinions with other visitors of this site, as well as the author. All feedback is appreciated and valued.

As you can see to the right (sidebar), several new pages have been added. Poems seem to be the main attraction to my site, as opposed to writing tips.

So for now, my focus on this site will be adding some of my favorite poems. I’m hoping you will enjoy reading several, more than once. I will be adding some dedication poems in the near future [as time allows].

Almost all of my writings are based on personal experiences or the experiences of persons close to me. The most recent additions are a couple of funny poems sure to make you smile.

Feel free to share this site [and the love] with your friends and family. Remembering: We can laugh, smile, sigh and even cry a little together!

It’s all good and every new day is a gift to be unwrapped with love in our hearts. I hope my words will become a small ribbon, woven around each gift of a new day.

Thank you to every Veteran – for protecting us – with your very lives.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all the Armed Forces and their families. Let us remember the many sacrifices made by these patriots, in order to protect the freedoms and rights of all our citizens.

The day will be filled with mixed emotions, most especially the families of those soldiers who have given their lives, so that we might enjoy the freedoms we do. The following poem was written as my small way to honor our troops. It is not a clever or lengthy piece, just a few words I hope might speak volumes:

They Mourn

Guarding Their Comrades

Duly Stood Brave Soldiers

The Silent Platoons

Ambushed Our Enemies

Freedom Still Remains

Another Assignment Done

Duty Completed

They Rejoice For Us, Then Mourn

Copyright 2006

For those of us who have not faced the rages of war, we can never know the depth of emotions coursing through the veins of every Soldier, as they face their enemy. To take another’s life is not done without burden. They carry the weight of so much, we might not even consider as a consequence.

Let us acknowledge our Heroes, their sacrifices and willingness to give their very lives, so that we might enjoy the many freedoms we have. Please thank a Soldier today.

After almost ten years, the Alhavakia.com website gets a makeover. With this new look also comes a new purpose – Writing Tips, Resources, Self Publishing, everything an Author needs or wants and more. I am a one woman team, so please be patient with me while I rebuild this site.

Those visitors looking for marketing resources, legal resources, and information formerly found on this site –  Please visit my Answers, Information and Resource site, where all items and resources have been moved: TheGoSeeGirl

My aim will be to post at least fifty of the best tips and resources I have come across over the years;  in addition I will be posting poems, I myself, have written over the years. There will be new pages added that will contain excerpt of the books I am currently working on also. Watch for the announcement to select titles, vote and win prizes too!

Writing is a long, tedious process that requires lots of patience, love, thought and time. Time is the most difficult challenge I face, but my life has always been challenging, so given time this site will grow. And Please – leave your feedback and comments on how this site can be improved to meet your individual needs or desires. I will address each any every one – personally – in a clear and concise fashion.

If you like poetry or you are just looking for a few encouraging words to give you that extra nudge to face the day with new resolve – you are going to love this site. If you are a struggling writer looking to improve your skills or just make new contacts, watch for my special upcoming offer for membership. Take a moment to make sure you bookmark this site, or sign up to my feed so you never miss a single post.

As time allows, I will also be listing some valuable resources for writers and tips to improve your writing skills and experiences. Sometimes one piece of information can change the whole picture of your writing future. Things such as “Submitting your work for publication: What To Do and What You Never Do” could determine or make the difference of whether you get published or not.  Interested in how to find an agent? Or whether you actually even need one?

Plus much more to come in the future, including a private member area filled with writing resources you will wonder how you ever managed to do without previously. Have a great day, smile at a stranger, don’t forget to say ‘thank you’ and ‘please’ followed by ‘have a great day’ and you will be amazed how much better you will feel. Just knowing you made someone else’s day a little brighter, will brighten your own day. It’s all good!
